L2 DL error

Hi All,

I have a problem with a customers Mitel, they have a number of handsets that are coming up with L2 DL error.

Resetting phone........

The handsets reboots on gets the required information - DHCP: Discovery = using option 125
- VLAN 20 Pri 6 6 0

The handset then gets TFTP: Main
- Downloading.......

Then we get L2 DL error

Thyis does not happen to all phones, there are approx. 15 handsets on the system, if we reboot the Mitel controller some of the handsets will come on line, if we then reboot one or two of the handsets we get this error again.

The system is a CX controller with version 4.1

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

It's a Mitel CX controller on ICP4.1 version and the handsets are 5312 with 1 x 5324
 
try static settings for the first boot

I have tried setting static settings on the handsets too, in the years I have been working on Mitel I haven't seen this issue before.

Do you still have the old DHCP options in your scope? Set firmware issue.
Firewall? blocking ports.
 
Hi Waldosworld,

Only have option 125 within the DHCP scope, unusual that if you reboot the system some of the handsets will boot up - but if you unplug and plug back in you will get the L2 DL error
 
I think you're having auto-negotiate issues

Check the connected speed at the switch without a PC connected and/or assign a connection speed.
