Recently I have been in turmoil on which new motherboard to buy. First it started with the question of RAID or UATA133 with the Soyo SY-K7VDRAGON+ or the Soltek SL-75DRV4. Then, with the help of Martin, better known here as Paparazi, I found the Abit KR7A-133 RAID. It combined everything the Soyo and the Soltek had and added an extra PCI slot. Then I found out about the Via's KT333 chipset. Is it worth the wait and is it as good as it sounds? T-Break did a review of the new MSI KT3 Ultra ARU,

They gave it Editor's Choice but they also make a very good point this is one of the first KT333 boards out.

Does anyone have any links or information about the KT333 chipset or any new boards with it?

Hi! me again!
Not sure about the model but am I correct in assuming this is like the IWill board that supports this faster 3300? DDram? I think thats it? could make your system quite a bit more expensive? and untried at the moment?
I guess we all are faced with such decisions but what it comes down to is If we always waited for the next best thing, we would never buy anything! because when the next best thing arrived there would be another best thing just around the corner again!
All that any of us can do is to buy what appears to be the best at any given time, knowing that the new thing is ALWAYS just around the corner.
Technology moves so quick so whatever you buy is obsolete the day after it is brought.
A sad but true fact!
What am I talking about! thats what we computer teckies live for!!!!!!!! Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!

Thanks and your right.

It's weird, last summer I finally upgraded my K6-2 450 to an Athlon 1.13GHz and AMD 761 mobo, GeForce2 GTS Pro, and ever since, I've been watching all the new advancements coming out and thinking I've gotta switch to the better! KT266A, KT333, GeForce3, GeForce4, Athlon XP, DDR333...

But if I were to step back a moment and look at what I've got - there's hundreds upon hundreds of software titles available out there, and maybe only a couple that can push the limit of what I've already got.

The reality is (atleast in my opinion), you're going to be happy with the performance no matter what chipset you pick - so be happy now, don't keep waiting for the next advancement.
