Im using Outlook Express Win98 and I sent an e-mail to my friend and is there a way to find out if he read it or not?
(other than calling him up). :)

I have heard that theres a way to do it but I had Win95 at that time.

When creating the New Message, click Tools-->Request Read Receipt.

Note - a receipt may not be generated if the receiver does not allow one.

My apologies...I don't ask what version of OE you are running.

Under OE6 (I run XP), this can be found under the NEW MESSAGE (the mail you create), from the Tools pull-down menu.

If you like, you can see an example of this by viewing this link:

SOrry, not in front of my home outlook express but I believe you do have to go into Tools==>Options (Not from a new mail message, but from the Outlook Express Tools==>Options). Do not know exactly where it is but do a help search for "Read Receipt" and this should give you some guidance on where to find it.
