We have identified an issue when uninstalling MSDE and an active process to the db exists, it creates an awkward state of the db.

We would like to kill all processes, stop the sql services and uninstall.

Are there cmd line commands to get this done?

Thanks,

JB

Click Start->run
Type: services.msc

Find anything starting with SQLSERVERAGENT and stop the services.
Then find anything starting with MSSQLSERVER and stop those services also.

The issue is not completeing this through the GUI rather completing through command line parameters.

I would like to make sure all users are killed first prior to shutting down the services.

I may be mistaken, but i think that killing all the users would have the same effect as stoping the service. If you want to use command line syntax to the stop the service, you could...

net stop SQLSERVERAGENT
net stop MSSQLSERVER
