Kick of a DTS package from Access 97

Anyone know of a way to allow a user kick off a DTS package from Access 97?
 
I've not tried this but you should be able to use the DTS Package Object Library in VBA. Add reference to the Object Library and create a module similar to the one described in the Visual Basic example at SQLDTS.com.


You could also write a stored procedure to start the package. See some sample code at ...


You can also Shell to DTSRUN.EXE from Access. DTSRUN.EXE is documented in SQL BOL.

Another option create a Job that runs the package and start the job by executing the stored procedure sp_startjob. You can also start jobs using SQLDMO if you're interested in analyzing all the options. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA
