Pls excuse my "newbie-ness" I'm just returning to Access after a prolonged hiatus.

I would very much like to be able to hit "enter" from anywhere (meaning any field) on my form and have that save the record and go to a new one (record) so that I can just continuously enter data and save it each time I move on. This is probably simple, and I'm sure I'm overlooking something, but I'm stumpted. Thanks in advance.

When you go to a new record, the current/previous record is saved automatically.

From what you say, you want to open the form, enter data into one field, hit enter, and it moves to the next record. Don't you want to enter info into all the fields before moving to the next record?

Maybe what you want is to check your TAB ORDER: then you tab thru the fields, entering data, and after the last one, you hit tab and it moves to a new record.

Simplest would probably be to use the button wizard and create a "add new record" button, then in the button properties, set the Default property to Yes.

BTW - Welcome to Tek-Tips!

To get the most out of the membership, I'd recommend a read at one of the faq's in GingerR's signature (perhaps the latter one?)

Good Luck!

RoyVidar,
That was perfect! Thank you! I knew there had to be a way to do what I was talking about. I really appreciate the assist!
