Hi All!

The man from the office next door came over today to ask about a strange computer problem he's having at home. His daughter's computer keyboard stopped responding. He says when you press a key, any key, nothing happens. If you hold the key down for several seconds it will eventually beep once and a single character will appear on-screen.

My obvious reaction to this information was to tell him to get a new keyboard - but he claims to have tried that already and got the same performance with the new keyboard. This leads me to believe that it is *not* a keyboard issue... but I've never heard of anything like this before. Anyone here have any suggestions?

They are running XP with Ad-Aware and SpyBot being updated and run on a weekly basis.

To turn on StickyKeys.

StickyKeys is designed for people who have difficulty holding down two or more keys simultaneously. When a shortcut requires a key combination, such as CTRL+P, StickyKeys will enable you to press a modifier key (CTRL, ALT, or SHIFT), or the Windows logo key (), and have it remain active until another key is pressed.

Open Accessibility Options.
On the Keyboard tab, under StickyKeys, select the Use StickyKeys check box.

To turn off StickyKeys, clear the Use StickyKeys check box.
