Help please! After installing a new driver for a Logitech wheelman mouse the keyboard is not responding within XP Pro upon reboot. All is fine until logon prompts are displayed. Tried safe mode in all guises but no avail as logon prompt is still displayed. Really need to know if it is possible to restore an earlier state from a command prompt without actually starting XP, or how to bypass logon prompt to actually do a restore or uninstall.

You could try rebooting the machine without the Mouse plugged in. Can then try loging in, using the tab and arrow keys to navigate.

I'm surprised safemode is not working as this loads the base drivers that come with XP, no 3rd party drivers. Are you sure the Keyboard is working ok, did you unplug/plugin the mouse or keyboard while the machine was swithced on?

You can follow the instructions in "Cannot Boot Windows due to Corrupt Registry" faq779-5362

This will get your registry back to a point before the drivers were installed.
