We have a user with a new Gateway Model # - E-2600D SB computer that just recently the keyboard and mouse have started to act up on them.
This user says the they will be using the computer and then the mouse will just stop working. Like it was just unplugged from the computer, dead. They have confirmed the mouse is still plugged into the computer (USB Microsoft mouse that comes with standard with the computer) and after a reboot the mouse will work fine for 3 to 4 days until it happens again.
Similar issues have been noticed with the PS2 connected keyboard on this computer with a reboot needed to correct the issue.
Checking this computer’s system event viewer I see the following error repeated over and over (it looks like a one per day pattern):
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7000

The S1Vision service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
I am going to try some of the fixes Microsoft suggests but I was just wondering before opening a trouble ticket with Gateway if there was anything else I should check to fix this keyboard/mouse issue.
