Keyboard and mouse are locked while booting

Symptoms: w2k server’s keyboard and mouse are locked while or after booting. We can not move the mouse and use the keyboard. We can’t use ctrl+alt+del even the safe mode. We get this problem after ran defrayment.

What we can do and did:

1. We can use the keyboard before getting in the windows, for example, press F8 to select safe mode.
2. We replaced another keyboard.
3. We still are able to access the server from other computer to copy data.
4. The server is web server also and we can open web pages.

Any suggestions?

Update: We are able to use TS to access the server.

1. If using USB keyboard and mouse, the mouse works but not keyboard even loaded the keyboard driver.
2. Tried to remove and reinstall the driver for the keyboard. The keyboard appears with a Yellow Exclamation Mark (Code 31) in Windows Device Manager.
3. We have tried different combination like USB keyboard and PS2 mouse or PS2 keyboard and USB mouse or keyboard only, but get the same problem.
4. If we removed and reinstalled the keyboard, the server will detect standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard.

Try enabling Legacy keyboard support in the system bios settings in cmos.

update: after formated the HD and reinstalled w2k, it works.
