keyboard acting bizzare. 1

How come when I press my backslash (opposite of /) in my keyboard, it turns to be a hash (#)? Then if I press hash, it comes out £. How do I fix this? Thanks.
 
Open the control panel and then "keyboard". See if the language is set properly for your area.
