^[OP is the map needed for f5 in hyperterm.. do youself a favor, get a copy of procomm.. very good software for this app.. hyperterm was to light even back when it was the best windows 3.1 could do..
I am pretty sure the maker of hyperterminal later came out with a "Private Edition" upgrade that included soft key which would be user definable. Take a look at

And here's how to get [F5] to work, after you have PE installed:
1. Menu {View}{Key Macros}
2. Button [New]
3. In the 'Key' field, just press the F5 key on your keyboard. <F5> will appear in the box.
4. In the 'Action' field, (THIS IS IMPORTANT!!)
Press the Ins key on your keyboard
Press the Esc key on your keyboard. <ESC> will appear
Type [21~ ...... left bracket, two, one, tilde
You should now have <ESC>[21~ in the Action box
5. Button [OK][OK]
6. {File}{Save} or {SaveAs}
