As an old language, Qbasic is surely kind of out-dated. But it is undouptly the most valuable way to start on a good feet in all those languages. Qbasic do have some great fonctions like Peek and Poke and I would like to know much more about them.
First, I would like to know about RAM and its interaction with the computer hardware.
I would like to know about RAM and the software.
And finaly, I would like to know if there is a way to find wish addresses does the hardware such a joystick or a cd-rom do communicate with RAM and if there is a way to PEEK them with Qbasic.
I hope that I wasn`t too confusing.
Thanks a lot for your support!

Toshi, you are the most helpful visitor I have ever found at Tek-Tips (believe me, I've been here a few times). I'm downloading HelpPC21.zip as I write.

Ralf Brown's Interrupt List is probably the best place on the internet for a DOS programmer to search for information on low-level calls. A truly excellent link. Personally, I prefer to code with Brown's book PC Interrupts open in my lap, but that's just a quaint habit. The book is bound with duct tape and paperclips. With any luck, it should last for a few more years.

Thanks for another good link!
