Hi, I am compiling my newsletter in pagemaker 7 and when I take a block of text and justify it, it is force justifying some words on the last line, which is frustrating and looks
k i n d o f l i k e t h i s.

I try selecting just those last words and left justifying them, but then the whole paragraph goes left justified.

Please help - I'm running to a tight deadline and wasn't expecting this!

Thanks in advance

Clare

I looked back and back through the archives til I came across a really handy little tip about formatting still being in place from word (if you have placed the text) and conflicting with the formatting in PM. I took the text and cut it, pasted it into notepad (to remove all formatting) replaced it and formatted it and bingo! perfect.

Always a good idea to remove ALL MS Word styles before even placing the text in PM. Either by placing it into a brand new PM doc and selecting it all and applying [no styles] from the Styles palette, then copy/pasting it into your regular PM doc - OR - as you found, opening it into Notepad first - OR - as a faster alternative, saving it in TXT or RTF format directly from Word.

Ah Word. That dreaded four letter word!
