Hello all - been reading the forums for years but this may be my first post. Have an IP Office 500 V2 system....software R8.2 (65) . I just installed this system new back in March. I did work with the folks I bought it from to iron out a few minor issues but there is one major issue that just can't seem to get solved. Voice mail transfers just won't release the line. You transfer a caller to an extension's voice mail...they hear the greeting and leave a voice mail and all is well. They hang up, but the system doesn't. It can be 15 minutes later and you look over at the phone and that line is STILL lit up....it's off the hook because the system just seems too dumb to sense what a dial tone is.
Here is what we've tried....we've tried adjusting the D/A and A/D settings on the the trunks....I've tried everything from -5db to +5db and everything in between. Doesn't help. I tried checking the checkbox for "quiet line" on the trunk and that doesn't seem to help. Ran the impedence test....which came back to 900..which is what it was to begin with. I haven't tried messing with that setting since supposedly the impedence test can tell what is best.....but if you guys think a different setting might fix the problem I am all for it. This place is 10 miles outside of town so there is no caller ID so the trunk is set to loop start with no ICLID and the other "long CLID" is not checked. Also tried changing the hold disconnect ....it defaults at 500ms. I tried it at 300ms. The tech I was talking to also suggested trying setting it at "not detected". Again, none of the above worked. Other than this, the system is great. When the line is sitting there lit up because it didn't disconnect, anyone can pick up that line and hear the usual "BAMP BAMP BAMP BAMP BAMP BAMP BAMP BAMP BAMP BAMP....." loud tone that the phone company sends down when you take the phone off the hook for too long.
Am I barking up the wrong tree? Is it a setting somewhere in the voicemail settings (ARE there any voice mail settings?)? I wouldn't think so but I don't know. I doubt it would be a setting pertaining to the particular extension, right?
More info if you need it.... the IPO has only one card in it....the ATM4V2 card with the daughter card attached for the incoming analog lines. They have 2 incoming lines and 4 extensions.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
