I have just installed Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 and .net Framework SDK 2. I have previous experience with VS2003 and SDK 1.1 but non under the current configuration.

I created a new web service and a dialog pops up stating "Microsoft Visual Studio cannot detect whether the site ' has been configured for use with ASP.NET 2.0. You may need to manually configure this site for ASP.NET in order fo you to run this site correctly."

Wehn I visit the site after compiling the Hello World webservice, I get an error page stating "Server Application Unavailable. The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request."

I have tried aspnet_regiis -i to no avail. Any ideas what is going on here?

Thanks in advance,

Lumstar

Do you still have multiple versions of the framework installed? If so, when you aspnet_regiis -i did you do that on the 2.0 folder?

Also, I find that the program from is quite good for switching versions.

I only have the 2.0 SDK Installed and I did run aspnet_regiis from the correct directory. Do you think a format will be necessary to clear all the settings?

A format seems a bit drastic at this stage. First, I would check IIS settings to make sure that:

1) ASP.NET pages are served
2) The vitual directory has been created successfully
3) The ASPNET account has the correct permissions
