I don't know why the software for that particular HP deskjet is not available in my printer settings of my compac laptop- all other series seem to be there. My brother-in -law gave me the printer but said he didn't have the software after it was put on his harddrive. Can he email me the software? I went to tucows but no free download.

Thanks Keytek, I went there and downloaded the series 670- which includes the 672C, and I downloaded it to my drive C (I believe that's my harddrive- right?) But when I went into printer settings to designate it as my new printer- I ran into a problem, the window to install haas only option of "have disk" plus the printer software available which I mentioned in previous post that doesn't include the series 670. Where should I have have downloaded it to?- I don't think I have a disk to install/download it to handy. When I tried the Have disk option - it said to install the manufactors disk. So it seems I'm back where I started. Do I also need to delete the downloaded software from my driveC? Thanks in Advance

First you have to double-click the file you downloaded, it will install all the files in a directory. Then go to add printer, click on Have Disk, and then use the Browse option to point to the new directory. It should find the files and start installing. Be aware there may be further subdirectories named Disk1, Disk2, etc. Browse to the Disk 1 directory.

Good Luck

UH-OH! I don't think I downloaded to a file, just my drive C. Is there a chance I can find it without its being in a file? TIA

If you downloaded anything it will have been saved as a file. Do a search for dj*.exe and you should find a file called dj259en.exe or something like it. Dependent on your computer settings you may not see the file extension .exe, you might just see dj259en. The file you downloaded may have a different number in the middle, but should have dj at the start and en at the end.

Good luck.
