In windows explorer if I choose to view thumbnails for my images, all it now shows is a generic placeholder for the pics and not small versions of the actual image. The windows jpeg viewer / slide show no longer works either.

Anyone know a quick fix or must I re-install XP from the CD?

Thanks,

Jim :)

Have you recently installed any new graphics programs? I suspect the association has changed. One other possiblity is that these images are quite large, and the thumbnails don't show properly, are they large, or is this for smaller files as well?

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

To expand on what mattjurado said, open a folder and check [Folder Options] under [Tools]. See what jpg etc. now links to.

You could also select the Thunbnails option under [View], if you haven't already. See if this shows jpgs correctly.
