Hi everyone,
I have a question that we simply cannot seem to get a straight answer too.

We are a small company (25 employees) and are using a new service from FrontBridge to handle our spam. We also journal our email in-house on our server. What we want to do is journal our email to two locations.

One at FrontBridge, which has a 30-day rolling email storage service we can use in case of emergency.

The second would be our in-house journaling server.

I have been told we can do this and we cannot do this. Does anyone know for sure if you can journal to two locations?

I appreciate any help or guidance you may be able to provide.
Thanks,
Dom

I think you need to be asking this question to FrontBridge.

Internally you should be able to do whatever you want. On the frontbridge side, they would need to be storing copies of every message for you. I doubt that they are actually using Exchange since that requires AD and user accounts to be created.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

If you're using the Exchange "message journaling" feature, you can direct all traffic to a distribution list, and forward it to as many destinations as you want from there...

Or are you wanting to do this before the mail ever even hits the exchange box? If that's the case, mark is right: you want to talk to the vendor providing your content filtering solution.

BTW, mark, color me impressed--you're a machine!

I don't think I've read a thread in either this or the w2k3 forums that you haven't replied to... and they're always good suggestions.

Mark and jkupski,
Thanks for your replies. I have just submitted my questions to FrontBridge Support as you suggested. Unfortunately, FrontBridge first told us we could do this a month ago. Then yesterday, they said we couldn’t do it. That is why I went to this site where the real experts are.

I am going to pursue this with the FrontBridge technical support forks to hopefully get a straight answer. From what you guys wrote, I could see where we might have a problem. We want all our incoming and outgoing mail to journal on our server AND we want all our incoming and outgoing mail to journal to FrontBridge for the 30-day rolling backup.

Thanks for your help. This site has helped me so much in the past because I can get straight answers to questions I do not fully understand.

Best to you both.
Dom

Thanks jkupinski. I enjoy helping others. Wish my work load was a little less so I could spend more time on the forums.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
