Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator/Programmer/DBA to join our IT team, specializing in the design, deployment, and maintenance of server and LAN infrastructure, database systems, and custom application development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network administration, database architecture, and programming experience in Java, Python, SQL, Visual FoxPro, and bash shell scripting. Key Responsibilities
Network & Server Infrastructure
* Plan, install, configure, and maintain LAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
* Administer and monitor physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux), ensuring high availability and performance.
* Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network and server issues to minimize downtime.
* Ensure network security through access controls, firewalls, and routine monitoring.
Database Architecture & Maintenance
* Design and maintain relational databases, ensuring performance, security, and integrity using MariaDb, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDb.
* Perform routine database administration tasks such as backup, restore, indexing, and query optimization.
* Develop and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards.
* Monitor and tune systems to ensure optimal database performance.
Application Development
* Develop, test, and maintain custom applications and scripts using Java, Python, SQL, Visual FoxPro, and bash shell scripting.
* Integrate applications with existing infrastructure and databases.
* Maintain legacy applications, particularly those built with Visual FoxPro.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
AI Development
* Formulate precise LLM queries for data analyzation and summarization.
* Create and optimize logical constraints to minimize hallucinations.
* Integrate AI models into existing applications.
* Test AI models with multiple data sets to ensure usability and quality control.
* Experience with machine learning and common LLMs (Llama-3.3, GPT-J, MIXTRAL, etc.) a plus.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 3+ years of experience in network and server administration.
* Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB).
* Strong development skills in Java, Python, SQL, Visual FoxPro, and bash.
* Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
* Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud-based service providers.
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
* Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSA, or equivalent.
* Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
* Familiarity with IT security best practices and tools.
* Prior experience maintaining legacy systems and transitioning to modern platforms.
