Heres some more numbers used by a local computer tech school to recruit students. Let me quote "an Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) 2000 study states that over 850,000 I.T. jobs are going unfilled."
Ok now that was in 2000, So those numbers could have changed. But since they use the numbers, than so am I.
850,000 Job openings / 50 States in the US = an average of 17,000 IT job openings per state.
I live in Harrisburg, PA. The capital of PA. This area is loaded with State and federal government employment.
On Wednesday, I called a state agency to see if they had any IT openings and they did not.
Also I searched our main newpaper classified section for any IT job openings, there are 2 ads for IT job openings.
Now I did not look eveywhere where there could be ads, but with so many so-called IT Job openings it should not be that difficult to find the jobs - right?
