Hi,

We recently moved our DELL PowerEdge server running SQLServer from one domain to another.
We have had a few issues that have been down to the owner /creator being an account in the domain etc.

Since the move the nightly backup job fails wheras prior to the move it was sucessful every night.
The number of skipped files has increased from 45 (in a sucessful backup) to 70 (failed job).

These extra skipped files it seems to have trouble backing up produce the following entry in the log:
Access denied to file \boot.ini.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Error reading security data stream.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Access denied to file \NTDETECT.COM.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Error reading security data stream.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Access denied to file \ntldr.

Access denied to file \WINNT\lanma256.bmp.

Error reading security data stream.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Access denied to file \WINNT\lanmannt.bmp.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Error reading security data stream.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Access denied to file \WINNT\network.wri.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Error reading security data stream.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Access denied to file \WINNT\POLEDIT.EXE

- Do you think this is a permissions problem wherby the account backing up the drives is not the owener creator from the old domain ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

btw. Can Backup Exec backup SQL databases ?
