Hello,
I am in the process of migrating from Novell to Active Directory and I need help with the printers. Right now, each printer has an HP JetDirect box with a Novell queue. I have been searching for hours on how to use these printers with these jetdirect boxes in our new Active Directory environment. Do any of you know how to put the printers in the active directory? (I do not want to simply use the basic printer sharing on a server)

Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

Hi Ktai,

Actually simple printer sharing on the print server is how you will publish the printer in AD.

Open Printers. Right-click the printer you want to publish, and then click Sharing. On the Sharing tab, click Share this printer, and then type a name for the shared printer. Select the "List in the Directory" check box to publish the printer in AD.
