Hi there people. I found this forum and was wondering if anyone can help. I am new to video editing but I have a problem in Premiere 6 with regards to playback and export...

here goes...

I used a DC30+ capture card to capture various clips which are all about 6 minutes long (2gig limit). I used the tv crop and captured in PAL at 5mb/s. Now I have no problem importing the clips in to premiere when I put a clips on the time line it will play smoothly when I hit enter. However if I move the clip or save the project and exit next time I go back to the clip it will not play smoothly. I therefore have a problem with exporting to tape aswell.

Funny thing is when I apply transitions and render, the transition bit will play smoothly but other video plays jerky. I do't have a very fast system but this is what I am using.

P3 500
256 MB RAM
10 Gig system HDD
40 Gig Maxtor 5400 for Video Editing
Premiere 6.0
DC30+ with latest drivers
Win2k

now is it the way I have captured the clips? Is it my settings in premiere? if anyone can help I would be gratefull.

Thank you

Systme spces could be part of the problem. Havne' worked in Pal, so unless you wnat slow repsones, suggest taking this up with Adobe Support.
