Hi,

A machine here has Win 98 with a Genius Netscroll PS2 mouse. When the system boots up, the mouse works fine after a random period of time, the mouse movements become jerky. I have tried a change of mouse driver to the standard PS/2, but it then cannnot detect the mouse.

Many thanks,
Tony.

Silly question you may think, but did you already clean the inside to see?

Hi Marc,

The inside is clean. I have tried a new mouse to see if it makes a difference. Can't really think of any reason why it should be happening though.

Are you by any chance using processor and memory heavy applications...after a random period of time?

Also, is there guidance to this random period of time eg. between 1 minute to 10 minutes, between 1 second to 24 hours?

Haven't heard anything from the user since so hopefully the new mouse fixes it. THere is a serial thermal printer shared through the PC as well so I am looking at the possiblity that this may be the cause.

Thank you all for yuor help
Tony.
