Since XP Pro no longer has java support and as I understand it the SP1a (which is the only one available now?) also has no support I have been installing J2SE 1.3.1 from Java.sun.com. Versions 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 don't work with a Lake applet I have on one of my web pages. Up til now 1.3.1 worked with this applet and with the game sites like msn and pogo that need java support.
My question is, what is everyone else doing about Java support? There's probably a better fix than I'm using.
One of my customers fooled around with Internet Explorer tools to the point that almost nothing worked. I restored all the Explorer settings to default and the lake applet works but the games will not come up at pogo.com. I could probably find a way to fix this but I'm thinking there is probably a better way to get Java support than what I'm doing.
