Java Plu-in 1.4 Fatal Error

Hello,

I updated JDK from 1.3.1_01 to 1.3.1_03 and got this error while going to a web page. All registry entries point to the new install.

What I have done:
Reinstalled IE with patches
Perform a Repair on IE
Checked Registry to see that the entries read the new install

OS Windows 2000 Server

I'm about to reinstall 1.3.1_01, but was told by another user that they got a different error messagfe after doing so:
MS Visual C++ Runtime
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\IE\IEXPLORER>EXE
abnormal program termination

We both have idential installs.

after you install java, look in ControlPanel->JavaPlugIn and check the box MicrosoftInternetExplorer in Browsers tab.
In the tab Advansed choose in the JavaRuntimeEnvironment listbox the current version of JRE you want to use for the browser. I belieev, Java PlugIn control panel for java 1.3 could have some tab missing, but anyway, you will be able to set all these parameters.
