Java error... 1

i am recieving an error upon start up...
error
Unable to locate system class: java/lang/Object

i also cannot view certain things online, like when trying to talk to a customer service rep through live chat, all i see is the symbol that show there should be a picture. does this have anything to do with it?

Try installing new version of Java:

i tried to install the new java and it wil not let me install.

Try downloading the package and install it.

If your java has problems now, it probably wont web install. Check this link and goto Windows.

What do you mean by "will not let me install"?
Are you getting an error message? If so, post it.
Is it detecting an existing install? If so, remove the existing install before trying for a new one.

tried to install and got...
error 1311: Source file not found
E:\ja142000.cab. Verify that the file exsist and that you can access it.

Curious...what SP are you running?

well went to try and install again and read down at the bottom that you need srevice pack 3 for windows 2000. i am running windows 2000 professional.

this is funny i just ended up on this page right before you posted it. upgrade and then install the plugin, right?

'course, I'd see if the bad behavior even warrants the Java install after you've done the SP installation and rebooted.

i installed the service pack and restared the computer and the error is gone. thanks alot! i'm sur3e i will be back!
