Java Class Adaptor - No trace

Version Merc 6.7.1
Platform AIX 5.2
DB Oracle 9.2
Java Version 1.4.2

Problem: Java Class Adaptor starts, but maks no javattrace.log. In debug.txt is just following:

**RMLoadAdapter 1254 wIO=143:

The function: GET("Java","-T+",Object) returns NONE

Any ideas?

I have now tested the same map in Map Designer and it is all OK.
Data are produced and javatrace.log is generated.
(Win XP sp1, jre 1.4.2, Mercator Broker Int 6.7.1)

#1, version 6.7.1 does not support JAVA 1.4.2. You need to use 1.3.1_3 to 1.3.1_9.

On AIX, run the UI to check your overall environment.

Im running now for one week on 1.4.2, and I have no problems with other adaptors or mappings, just with Java-Class Adaptor. He do absolutly nothing. There are no logs no messages about java version incompatibility.

Im not sure, but i think that java is full reverse compatible, so it should be OK also with 1.4.2 ....?

I will try it now with jre 1.3 ...

JAVA fully reverse compatible? )) We found issues with 1.3.1 less than _3 and over _9. It is possible what you are doing could work with another version, but it would be unsupported. In addition, the error handling in JAVA for the things we do seem to be limited.
JC adapter is not used a lot, since many customers are using the DS TX product because the performance it is capable of, and adding things like JAVA just slows things down.

I have switched the jre on 1.3
(J2RE 1.3.1 IBM AIX build ca131-20020706 )
but the reason is the same.
No Log, no Message.

Send a _simple_ test case to Ascential Support so our JAVA people can look at it. It could be a bug or enhancement request (for better logging).

How can I check if the adaptor is properly loaded or how can I check status of adaptor?

I have found the Problem!!!

it musst be setted LIBPATH to JVM libraries.....

That is why I asked for the UI results. It shows the environment. If you don't have UI, and you have a current contract with Ascential, and you run AIX, Solaris or HPUX, contact support and they can send it back by return e-mail.
Current version is 1.24 but it is being worked on to add some more features.

Good piece of advice: As soon as you get it, run it and keep the resulting files as a baseline. Then, if you run into a problem in production, run it again as see what changed. Many times there has been an OS, or third party software change that was not communicated to the Ascential user group.
