Hi, I have written some custom tags in Java and am having problems with them with CF 4.51 SP2 on Solaris 7, using the Netscape/iPlanet server (v4).

I have set up the Java options in the administrator, and am quite sure they are correct, and have added the CFX tags to the registry using the administrator. Looking at the cf.registry file I see that the tags are stored under hkey_local_machine\software\allaire\coldfusion\currentversion\customtags\< tag name, e.g. CFX_BASICCFX>

When I first tried to load the page an error reprted tha the tag could not be foud in the registry. Subsequently I recieved either 'Server or DNS errors' or the following CF error:

An error occurred while attempting to establish a connection to the server.
The most likely cause of this problem is that the server is not currently running. Verify that the server is running and restart it if necessary.
Unix error number 2 occurred: No such file or directory

As far I can tell the server is running fine (can access html pages and cfm pages without CFX tags in).

I have used the same pages, tags and classes on a Win2000 setup (using the personal web server) and everything works fine.

Can anyone shed some light on what's going on here?

Many thanks,
Steve

...have noticed that when this is happening the server is core dumping, it crashes when it tries to initialise the JVM...
