I'm in the process of switching over a customer from 1408 phones to J179's.

On the 1408 phones, when a call comes in, the entire CID is shown on the display - the office uses this to check medical records.

On the J179, the CID is truncated after the first few digits because it tries to fit it inside the Line Appearance button - so it only takes up 1/2 of the screen's width.

How can I get the entire CID to show on an incoming call?

Thanks.

Is the phone set to single-column mode? (the default is dual-column)

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Yes!! Single column mode is perfect.

I found in the manual how to make the setting change locally on the phone. How do I make it system default? I'm assuming it's a line in the 46xx file, but I can't see where to find those options.

Thanks.

Edit: Found it in the 46xxsettings file. Thank you again!
