I can see the phone get the J100 file and 46xxsettings file from the IP Office, but as soon as I put in the extension and passcode I don't see anything else in.
I've made sure I have a good SIP extension and passcode under the extension section. Here is a monitor output. The system is on R11 SP2.

If the phone has been previously connected to anything then you need to fully default it to clear any previous certificates.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I updated today 30 J179 to H.323 firmware, I suggest you to update it.

Have you got a proper UCC certificate on your IPO and got TLS enabled? They won't accept any other type. If not, use the 46xxspecials file on the IPO to drop these phones back to TCP.

@briancosta - The OP is using IPO 11. The J179 is only supported with SIP on that version.

I will look first thing tomorrow morning when I get in and try to disable the tls first. It was a brand new phone out of the box and the first one I plugged in to our in house system.

16:30:35 1552791mS ERR: TLS:Fatal Error on connection Src=10.0.1.1:5061 Dst=10.0.1.124:46877

Here is the TLS error that results in the "Acquiring Service" message.

If you need/want TLS enabled, you'll need a valid UC Cert with the FQDN and SIP Domain as SAN entries.

Alternatively, if you just want to get it working and don't want to turn off TLS then you can add this entry into the 46xxspecials.txt file;

SET TLSSRVRID 0

ACSS (SME)

Sorry, forgot to add this will also be required in the 46xxspecials.txt file too;

SET SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST [IP Address]:5060;transport=tcp
SET FQDN_IP_MAP "[FQDN]=[IP Address]"

ACSS (SME)

ok, I have made progress... It was the auto generated files and not using them like I should have. I am now able to actually try and login to the phone with the base extension. however I am getting a 403 Forbidden in monitor. I've put in a password on the SIP extension, that didn't work. I've tried enabling auto create extension just to test with and that didn't work either. I know its got to be something simple.

Is your SIP Domain under LAN1 > VOIP sip.csijax.com?

ACSS (SME)

it was, but I chnaged it a few days ago while troubleshooting to the IP address. I just changed it back and now I am able to login, and see it login in monitor which I wasn't seeing before, however I am still getting the acquiring service. I assume this is because I don't see it grabbing the 46specials file, I only see it grabbing the 46xxsettings file. How do I get it to grab the 46xxspecials file?

actually I looked in the 46xxsettings file and see the following settings already in there, so do I even need the auto generated 46xxspecials as it doesn't have any other settings in it?

SET SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST 10.0.1.1:5060;transport=tcp
SET FQDN_IP_MAP "sip.csijax.com=10.0.1.1

You should see

# END
GET 46xxspecials.txt

At the end of your 46xxsettings.txt file. If you don't, upload a dummy 46xxsettings.txt file to the System > Primary folder, and then to proceed to delete it and it should recreate the Autogenerated 46xxsettings.txt with the above entry at the bottom.

i have the 46xxspecials file it just wasn't pulling it, but I guess that is due to the 46xxseetings file that was auto generated didn't have the GET 46xxspecials.txt command.

my question is why do I even need the specials file when the settings are in the settings file already?

when I look under the SIP Proxy it shows a solid white circle and in the global settings its set to alternate as registration policy and avaya environment is set to off.

You only needed the 46xxspecials if you wanted to keep TLS enabled but have the J100 phones running over TCP.

ACSS (SME)

I feel like I'm really close, this is what I'm getting now... Look at the last line, it looks like its trying on a different port, not 5060? So right now it's not actually registering all the way like I thought with the extension.

Ok, i figured it out... stupid me. I changed the system default TCP port on the LAN tab and forgot to change it back. It seems to be working now.
