J169 ethernet port stop working all of a sudden. Reboot fixes the issue. Any thoughts on why?

We've had this issue at a customer site for the last three years. It went mostly unnoticed because most users have laptops and they auto-connect to their wifi connection. The phone stay up and is working but no ethernet. We tried changing the data cable and also connecting to another laptop and it will only work after a reboot.
