I'm an IXC providing PRI to a G3Si, three T-1s, one trunk group, NFAS. We support NorTel, Lucent 4E, Lucent 5E and System 85 protocol types (and they're pretty much generic)..
we've got a customer who's reporting he's using a G3Si and he can't support anything but N449. We've turned up dozens and dozens of G3Sis on Lucent 4E and Lucent 5E, but he seems to think that won't work. It also never recovers during d-channel switchover (requires manual intervention every time - our other users don't have that option)..
So here's the questions:
1) Does the G3SI in this circumstance use Network or PBX/User configuration?
2) what would be the optimal configuration for a G3SI interfacing with a NorTel DMS-250 long haul.
3) is CRC-6 an option (we require ESF/B8ZS on the span, but some CPE have a CRC-6 option available - we sync dchannels on the CRC-6 bits)
4) is there any reason why using a 4E or 5E emulation package wouldn't be any good for the G3SI?
we're pretty much out of options on the LD side...our network is plain Jane...we don't have any variables to set outside of basic protocol and circuit/trunk relationships...
Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
