I am not very familiar with IIS6 on win2k3.
I just rebuilt the server with win2k3 from 2000. I have installed IIS and now when my user logs on with the iusr_<servername> account, he gets access denied. This is what I get:
"Is not possible to perform an anonymous connection to the IIS running in the system" Every time when this is tried, the following message appears in the system log:

Logon Failure:

Reason:The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this machine
User Name: IUSR_<servername>

Domain: domainx

Logon Type: 8

Logon Process: Advapi

Authentication Package: Negotiate

Workstation Name: computerA

What else do I need to do to give him access?
Thanks,
Paula

In the IIS Admin tool, right-click the web site and pick "Properties" from the popup menu, then switch to the "Security" tab on the properties dialog box.

The permissions are already there for the user. Plus the permissions on the c:\inetpub\ folder.
Still getting access denied.

It has anonymous access in IIS and then on the folder it has the iusr_machinename user

What about the specific file mentioned in the URL... is it inheriting permission from the folder?
