Here's one I've never seen before, and can't figure out how to remedy.

This will be the 24th Option 11C being added to our WAN.

The ITG card will come online. I can transmit and receive Card Properties, Dialing Plan, etc.. It will also download the codecs as required.

The ITG card is enabled, as well is DCH 10.

But, on the PBX I get an error of: DCH1019 10 001AF277 00009001

Hardware Disabled?

On the ITG card, the status shows:

Welcome to the ITG command line.
Software Version: IPT3.01.22
SysName: Test company
SysLocation: TN: 003 Management IP: xxx.xxx.131.35
SysContact: IT Support

Is it even possible to "Hardware Disable" this ITG card?

Any help is appreciated on this one as I'm a little stumped.

Thanks, Nathan

Three things come to mind for me:

1) Bad SDI/DCH card

2) Card in need of a FDL (Force Download)

3) Bad SDI/DCH tail cable

I do not think the issue is on the ITG, but on the SDI/DCH card. The error message would not report the DCH1019 if the little D-Channel daughterboard on the ITG card was hardware disabled, that has to be local to the PBX. The message the ITG card shows would appear correct if it cannot establish with the SDI/DCH.

I cannot think of anything else that would cause this, although I am sure there are many. Have you tried other SDI/DCH cards?

Hope this helps, good luck!!

You could try disabling the SDI/DCH card?
You could try reseating the SDI card?
There were also issues with ITG and NTAK02 release 1
cards - does not sound like your issue but worth mentioning?

Tried two differnet ITG cards and two different DCH cards...

Different slots? Different tail cables? That would be my next step. If that does not resolve it, I would try to get ETAS involved.

Good luck,

Scott M.

Thanks guys!

I had a tech onsite this morning.

He informed me that there were some switches on this card that required configuration. I am not very familiar with the physical construction of these cards. Is this correct?

The only dip-switch settings I am aware of are on the SDI/DCH card. Only ports 1 and 3 can be D-Channels. Here is what I show for these settings:

For port 1 RS-232
SW 1-1 ==> ON
SW 1-2 ==> OFF

For Port 3 RE-232
SW 1-3 ==> OFF
SW 1-4 ==> OFF

For the jumpers (for Port 1),
J6 ==> C-B
J7 ==> C-B
J8 ==> C-B
J9 ==> C-B

Jumpers 1-4 are the same, and these are for Port 3.

These are usually the factory defaults, so they normally do not need to be changed.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.
