Items fail to archive

Hi

A user running Outlook 98 on Windows NT4 connecting to an Exchange 5.5 server attempts to archive items from the mailbox to a .pst file. In every mailbox folder apart from the Inbox, the items are archived as expected.

However, the inbox simply ignores the majority of items that should be archived - ie. If you set it to archive items older than May 1st 2003, the archive completes in a matter of seconds and the mailbox still contains many emails that are dated january, February, March etc.

I have recreated the mailbox on the server and the behaviour still occurs.

Any ideas?

Outlook checks the "modified" date of messages to determine if they should be archived. See
