'Item' could not be loaded

The message '' could not be loaded has just started appearing after recompilation of an existing OCX. MSDN Help brings up the message line in the subject, but the 'Item' portion is blank. Code changes were tested by adding a form to the OCX project. After debugging the form was removed from the project and the startup object set to 'None' in the properties. Any suggestions re: what may have happened?

Missing piece of information. Error message occurs when trying to use the OCX in another project ( Project -> Components ... Controls ).

Problem solved.
1) Unregistered the original OCX
2) Created a new ActiveX project
3) "Removed" the default ctl
4) "Added" the original ctl
5) Renamed the output object
6) Reset the version # manually
7) Rebuilt the OCX.

Does the VB.NET environment show the same instability as the VB6 IDE?
