Issues with buttons within a scrollpane in Flash MX

I'm new to the Flash world and need some help. I am using Flash MX and have a button within a scrollPane. When that button is clicked, I need for my movie to goto and stop at a specific frame. I built the button and set the actionscripting to on release, go to and stop on frame 3. The rollover works fine, but it will not go to the specific frame. I also tried the same thing, but with converting that button to a movie, and I have the same issue. Is there something small I'm looking over, or is it a big process? Any assistance would be appreciated.
