Hi Everyone this is the delemma I'm in
We have Spectralinks 8440 SIP Based wifi phones using the ec500 feature pointed at a Old Nortel Meridian deskphone. So when the Spectralink rings the Nortel Rings. However when we lose signal on the Spectralink and the number is called the caller goes directly to Voicemail. Issue is there is no AP point in the area where the users are sitting and managment dont want to install a new AP point yet in the area. I tried to configure a new path with a DID on the Nortel phone and pointed the Coverage path to a Remote Coverage. But what happens when you call the spectralink (with no wifi service) you get dead air for the total ring cycle and then it will remote call foward to the Nortel phone.
Question is there a way using Coverage path 2 to eleviate this issue? or am I on the wrong path configuring this? Thanks for any help Joe

So you're using Session Manager, CM, and CM station programming to support the Spectralinks?

Quick and dirty might be to just have a real digital or IP phone with a bridged appeareance of the first call-appr of each spectralink - depending how many there are.

I'm figuring you're hitting coverage because CM tries to route to to the SIP phone, SM replies that its gone, and coverage should ensue.

Having a real place for those calls to ring, even when out of range, would likely keep the station ringing on the brdg-appr and your Nortel set.

There are probably better ways, but that's an easy one off the top of my head.

Funny but not a bad idea since this will be temporary till will deploy all the Avaya sets. I just might setup a 9608 with an expansion mod and bridge them to all the spectralinks for now so at least we can give them service. Thanks again for your help!!! Joe
