I'm not sure if this is the correct place, and this may seem trivial but would help immensely if anyone can point me in the correct direction.

I need to start a small ISP for a business enterprise I am involved in.

In effect we are setting up an Internet Cafe but aimed at the games market. The idea being that we supply a network
they can come along and play on - we'll also supply the software.

At the moment, as we only have a single location, and thus this is not a problem as we can run it entirely on a LAN, but as we branch out, we want to connect each location upto a single computer. I.e. have another network at a remote location that connects to the same server as the first location.

From my research so far I've been informed that the computer will need to have a set of Modems connected via a multi serial port card. I don't even know if this will be quick enough, and I'm also looking into the possibility of using ISDN lines as well.

Will I need to get a specialised phone line put in for the dial ups that accept multiple lines at once, or will I need one line per live connection?

If anyone can recommend any books or good web sites, it would be appreciated!

I don't know if this will help, but we're setting it up in the UK.
Ben Marshalsea

Additional Info:

We'd like to set the server up in either Win98/NT4+ or Linux.

The games to be played on the system will mainly be Half Life/Quake 3 etc... games. Which I understand can be run under a Linux server.
Ben Marshalsea
