Hi guys, just wondering if any of you out there are or have experienced a high failure rate of the ISP 1100 Sig Servers, I've just lost my fourth one in 10 months, all in seperate racks, all powered by UPS, all on good earths, when they fail I get the errors below!

Are you specifically grounding the IPS1100 chassis?

I have 8 in 4 locations all ranging from 3 years old to 1 years old, with no failures. All are installed in racks with UPS power, chassis not grounded.

I too have several of these installed. None of the Chasis are grounded via a separate ground wire. All grounding done via the power cord. They have been in service for over 4 to 5 years now with no problems.

I had one last week where it appeared the Sig Server's system configuration file got corrupted (the TLAN IP was the netmask for the ELAN). Had to sent a tech out and insert the CD and rerun the setup from scratch; didn't have to reinstall the software, but one of the messages when trying to do a simple reconfig said the nvram.sys file was corrupted. Even though the name says its a "system" file I know from doing a backup the file is like an old windows INI file, not a binary file.

The 2 I have in my lab have been running for years, no grounding other than the power cord, constantly shut off hard, no UPS, power failures, you name it!

One is a bit finicky sometimes on a reboot, after a power off, but nothing that even concerns me given the environment.

Verify if you have a NTDU27AA Release 1 to 5 if you do, then check if you have the retrofit for it ntdu27EA installed (pci riser) NTDU27AA Release 6 indicates it has been installed.

If you don't have it, it might cause boot failure and bootup corruption.

Hi all grounded via mains and all NTDU27AB Rls 2, so I have no idea what is causing the failures but all seem to have the same fault, continual re-boot at same point as indicated above!
