Any guys had an issue with intermittant no transmission on I/C answer on a 5G telecoms ISDN30 circuit?

Its at a Taxi company with 3rd party TAPI working so the operator can see the number both on the handset and on the TAPI "popping" docket
on answer but with no transmission either way(caller cant hear operator and vice versa), the call gets cleared and the caller returns the call straight away to get a successful call, stating that they couldn't hear the operator.

IP Office is running 9.0.4.0 build 965 and the PRI and DS8 cards changed, phones are 1408 and call recording removed, cat 5 changed between NTE and IPO..

Openreach say its Trend testing OK

Suggestions please?

Sounds to me like a provider issue, but have you tried changing the PRI card?

Kind regards

Gunnar

Yes, changed the PRI card along with the DS8 board its sitting on. I think its Vendor related too, but trying to get them to take ownership is a nightmare. A few test calls in and apparently its all OK!! Its because its so intermittent its a pain, it may happen more that 10 times a day then nothing for a few days.. can happen either during a slow or busy period too so not even traffic related.

Is this a true ISDN30 or some kind of SIP-ISDN converter?
I've never had dead air on a true ISDN.

I'd set up a continuous monitor logging to file, and assign a button on the phones to make a timestamp.
Have the users push that button when dead air occurs, it makes it easier to locate in among the thousands of trace lines.

Enable all Monitor filters for ISDN as well.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hi Gunnar

Yes its a true ISDN30 PRI, not simulated via a SIP converter. Thought things had quietened down but just has a period of 5-10 minutes of continuous silence on answer, and for the 1st time I have witnessed it myself!! I called in from a PSTN line and silence...nothing from the PSTN line, no calling tone, but the IP Office had rung and the operator had answered the call and wad talking, although there was no transmission my end or his.... then tried it again and the same, after a couple of failed calls then tried from a mobile and seemed to clear so tried from the PSTN and was clear on that too!! Will try your monitor logging solution...
