I have two definity's both are r9.5
Each has a tn464f and a ICSU attached. The problem seems to be the signaling group. I have followed the examples in the d81 network conectivity manual but the D channel does not seem to want to come up.

Am I missing something?

Make sure you are using a "T1 crossover cable", which is built like this: pins 1&2 on 1 end to pins 4&5 on the other end, and ping 4&5 on the first end, to pins 1&2 on the other end. You cross 1&2 to 4&5, on both ends.

Also, on the "DS1" form ("change DS1 01AXX"), the "Connect" type on 1 end will need to be "host", while the other switch is still going to be "network"

I did create a crossover arrangement as you recommended.

the errors that I am now getting are sync 1793
and UDS1-BD 3109 and 3073

Do I need to have the sync configured? I do have it configured on both systems.

Also it it possiable to do this without the ICSU's

If the systems are less than 655 feet apart you do not need CSUs.

Did you check the programming on the DS1 forms on each switch? one end needs to be "host", while the other end needs to be "network"

I when I checked the error log this morning I had tone clock error I am using a 2182 tone clock, I do not have a external clock reference, incoming lines are pots. the TDM- Clock error is 1281 which has to do with time slips

You can't sync both systems to each other. One has to act as the "source", and in your case get the sync from the tone clock since you only have POTS lines. The other switch would then sync off the tie line.

Change the DS1 Connect: field on both systems to PBX and then you will get an Interface: field that one system should be set to Network and the other to User. Once this is done issue the command - Status Signal-group xx (you do not show).
