Hi all,

I currently use a Diva Dialogic ISDN USB adaptor connected from my laptop to a BRI on a IP500 for remote access to our IP office sites but think its getting a bit tired now. Can anyone recommend a good alternative to use for remote access?

Thanks

Depends on you and your customers setup tbh.

Most companies have a VPN capable firewall these days, so you can just connect that way. Or alternatively get a Teamviewer licence and put a local machine onto your account and manage that way, useful if you have a Voicemail server running on the site already.

Just never, ever put a public IP on your IPO.

For a modem that works within current OS, the Draytek mini vigor (via eBay) :-)

if you are using an IPO for the connection to the outside world ditch the TA completely & configure a dial-up service in the IPO.
if the IPO is your gateway then you only need to enter the correct IP address into manager when you want to connect to the remote site

(Note I hav found that later releases of software don't like more than about 90 services so if you haev old kit lying arround an IP412 with V1.2 firmware is ideal for this)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I have set up an Avaya VPN Gateway (AVG 3070) with SSL VPN licenses. Works great.
