We use ISA 2000 and are shortly moving to ISA 2004. We use Explorer 6.0 across our network with the odd exception now using explorer 7.0.

Currently may users login to Windows using a low level generic login (such as reception desks) but to achieve any accountability for the internet they have their own network login for browsing the internet/intranet.

However, the only way I’ve achieved this is buy using ‘’Basic Authentication’ which sends credentials across the network in plain text. Is there anyway of making users login to use the internet/intranet while sending credentials in a secure manner. If I change the security to Integrated Authentication, the server doesn’t ask for authentication, which means I can’t use this method.

Why cannot you use Integrated Auth? It still logs the user and tracks sessions. The difference is, is that it uses the credentials that the user logged into their workstation with. I would think a single sign on is optimal???

I hope you find this post helpful,
