ISA 2004 SP1 & MSDE/SQL Engine?

With ISA 2004 Standard Edition SP1 the MSDE Engine is installed. Is there any need for this or can it be uninstalled without any problems?

It is used for the logging features - you can change this to log to MSDE, SQL Server or file
