I am having an issue with our ISA Firewall, when I restart the server for whatever reason, the Firewall service will not start. So in order to make it work, I have to turn off routing and remote access, restart the server; and it then starts. Then I have to go back and turn routing and remote access on again. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this problem?

hi,why you use RRAS, its not compatible with isa if you use to with NAT activate.

I recommend you to eval the services running in the isa box

hope its helps

hi check this from MS site

Firewall
Q.
How do I use Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) with ISA Server 2000?
A.

In scenarios where specific routing has to be established for ISA Server use, we include a wizard to help configure connectivity between local area networks (LANs) with Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) and Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP). For all purely routing-related functions, there is no collision between ISA Server and RRAS features. However, it is preferred and recommended that SecureNAT and dynamic packet filtering functionality be configured only through ISA Server and not through RRAS.
