I have two tables, each with one field:

Cooridinates:
Field1

Order:
Field1

The contents are small:

Cooridinates:
X
Y
Z

Order:
Ascending
Descending
N/A

I was trying to determine all the possible combinations of XYZ coordinate sorting and I was hoping Access would create all the possiblitlies for me. When I perform just a select query, I come up with 9 possibilities - I know there are more...

Can this be done?

TIA
Todd

I know there are more
Really ?
How 3 * 3 may be greater than 9 ?

I know there are more...
and what would those be, like PHV I would expect 9 combinations:

X - Ascending
X - Descending
X - N/A
Y - Ascending
Y - Descending
Y - N/A
Z - Ascending
Z - Descending
Z - N/A

Oops, sorry I should have explained that better (it's definitely Monday)....

for a given set of X,Y and Z coordinates, I may or may not care about a certain coordinates values:

"-" = N/A

[tt] X Y Z
- - -
- - Asc
- Asc -
Asc - -
Asc Asc -
Asc Asc Asc
- - Des
- Des -
Des - -
Des Des -
Des Des Des
- Asc Des
- Des Asc
...
