HI,
I want to join my XP home machine to a windows 2000 domain. I know XP home doesn't have this feature but I figured someone may know how to add it. Please help.

Thanks,
Matt

It will never "join", but you can make life easier:

The two rules:

. Give XP Home a Workgroup name identical to the Domain
. Give yourself a username and password identical to that of your Domain login

Microsoft cut out of XP Pro the parts that do networking and called it the Home version. I think the restrictions kick in if the total number of computers is over 5 or 10.

As I've used Windows 98, 98se and Me ("home" versions) in an office environment for many years with only relatively minor isses, I don't like the way we are forced to use XP Pro rather than Home when updating the OS just to connect and write letters and such, but that's the way it is.
